Positive Behaviours A Williamstown High School education supports students to Be Respectful, Be a Learner and Be Safe - a message we have carefully crafted as a lead school in School Wide Positive Behaviours Support (SWPBS). Role School nurses promote the optimal health, wellbeing and development of students in a school setting. This may include a focus on health monitoring and surveillance; health promotion, education and counselling; and the provision of primary health care to students. School nurses also make early identification and intervention for students and families at risk. Responsibilities The School Nurse will work as a member of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team (SEWT) to plan, implement and review the health, engagement and wellbeing areas of the Annual Implementation Plan. The School Nurse will be responsible for: Working with the SEW team across the school to support student engagement, health and wellbeing. Assessing and supporting students to promote regular school attendance. Providing health advice to the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Leaders. Proactively engaging with students during breaks to develop rapport and positive relationships. Implementing nursing interventions including referral to health professionals/agencies. Maintaining accurate electronic records for assessment, referral, planning and implementation. Supporting first aid facilities and assisting in delivering first aid to students. Who May Apply Current registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority. Current Victorian Working with Children Check. Current Victorian Drivers Licence. Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in child or adolescent health, health promotion, community health, mental health, or primary health care.
