Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities - Calamvale Community College Education (Organisation site)Metropolitan South Region, School and Regional Operations and Performance Division An exciting opportunity exists to join Calamvale Community College as a full-time Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to assist in contributing to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities support under the direction of the Principal, Facilities Manager, or General Manager. You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature. About the Role Demonstrated ability to maintain Grounds and Facilities Ability to conduct minor repairs and maintenance (Reactive & Planned) to Grounds and Facilities (except jobs that require a qualified tradesperson) Proven experience working with machinery, including maintenance and record keeping Capability to perform activities consistent with workplace health and safety guidelines Ability to liaise with various internal and external personnel (e.g., tradespersons) on a variety of repair and maintenance issues Responsible for a range of activities required by the administration team Further role-specific criteria: Proven experience working with machinery, including maintenance and record keeping Knowledge of or ability to gain knowledge of tools and equipment including school mowers Demonstrated awareness of health and safety requirements Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge in school More about you: Willingness to undertake specific training to enhance skills as necessary Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Proven ability to build strong working relationships and rapport with a diverse range of people Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, proactive, and show initiative Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills Ability to think logically and solve problems Maintain strict confidentiality as per the Code of Conduct for Qld Public Servants Mandatory requirements: A criminal history check will be initiated on the successful applicant. In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, the successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (Blue Card). This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note the salary rate shown is reflective of the OO2 to OO3 classification range.
