Reporting to the Head of Science, you will be responsible for working with a highly skilled and passionate academic team and teach across a range of science subjects. Our Science Faculty allows our students to develop their science inquiry skills through working independently and collaboratively in a range of science disciplines including Chemistry, Psychology, Physics, Biology, and Earth & Space Science as well as involvement in a range of competitions. There is an exciting opportunity for the right person to develop and introduce the health curriculum. With a strong ability to teach Years 7-10, you will have a student-centred approach to the delivery of curriculum and classroom management, and you will challenge and support students both pastorally and academically. Experience and/or qualification in teaching health is advantageous. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of curriculum content, be able to use technology to support their teaching, and understand the individual learning needs of students while developing and implementing innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement. Qualifications and Requirements Relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). A strong background in teaching General Science (science teachers with experience in teaching health are encouraged to apply). Competent in teaching science inquiry skills and using data to inform your pedagogies. Able to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
