Key duties: Develop and implement a comprehensive English and Humanities curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering literature, writing, grammar, history, geography, and social studies. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating discussions, activities, and projects to enhance critical thinking skills. Encourage inquiry-based learning by fostering students' ability to analyse information, evaluate evidence, and draw informed conclusions on key humanities topics. Teach Legal Studies, covering criminal law, civil law, and legal studies in global contexts, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements. Facilitate real-world learning experiences by integrating current legal events and developments into the curriculum, making content relevant and engaging. Collaborate with colleagues in English, history, geography, and other humanities disciplines to develop interdisciplinary projects that foster cross-curricular connections. Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on best teaching practices and curriculum advancements. Skills & Experience: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia Must have VIT registration Demonstrate previous experience in teaching secondary English/Hums/Legal Studies within Australia Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
