The position is based in Sydney and requires considerable commitment, time and attendance in the Sydney Office. This position requires full working rights in Australia. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Security Manager - Stadium and Non-Competition Venues at AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 LOC. The role is located in Sydney, NSW. The Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing security management and risk management at the host cities' stadiums and non-competition venues for the WAC 2026. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have a proven and solid background in major events and the safety and security management considerations associated with these events. The candidate will have a strong work ethic and a talent for multi-tasking, delivering results through efficient communication, training, prioritization, and flexibility. Responsibilities Manage the planning and implementation of AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 safety and security obligations. Coordinate stadiums and non-competition venues safety and security activities to meet AFC regulations and the relevant tournament requirements in Australia. Ensure the development and implementation of quality safety and security solutions. Plan and deliver stadium security resource planning and budget for Match Days, Match Day -1 and Non-Match Days. Provide safety and security specialist advice to venue managers, stadium authorities, and non-competition operators. Oversee the stadium safety and security operations ensuring compliance. Provide leadership, guidance, and operational safety and security to LOC teams. Develop safety and security risk assessments and implement appropriate measures. Manage safety and security requirements related to transportation, accommodation, and services for teams and officials. Transition into a city/stadium specific operational role during the tournament. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Successfully led a comprehensive security programme for major sporting events. Major event security experience in stadiums and venues. Experience in managing security operations at large events or venues. Appropriate and relevant qualifications and extensive experience in security/risk management. Proven experience in crowd control and emergency management/planning. Knowledge of applicable safety and security guidelines and best practices. In-depth knowledge of stadium search and screening operations, crowd flows, and access management. Experience in third-party security contractor management. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Must have relevant tertiary qualifications in Security, Security Management, Risk Management, Law Enforcement, Project Management, or related fields. Must have 10+ years of professional experience in a leadership role in event security and/or law enforcement/military with proven experience in the major events industry.
