The Senior Accountant will report to the Group Accounting Manager and lead a small team to ensure accurate financial reporting, both internally and externally. They will oversee external audits and provide important financial insights to internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves offering technical accounting expertise, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.As a key member of the team, your responsibilities include: Produce and review the monthly executive and board reports and coordinate the relevant processes with Codan's subsidiaries' finance teams across the globe Responsible for driving and reporting KPI's in line with organisational goals Be the finance business partner for corporate and group operations teams and provide financial advice, monitoring and reporting as required Oversee and coordinate annual budget process, create and review group annual budget financial pack Prepare and review half & full year publicly published statutory accounts and group consolidation Manage and support external auditors Research technical accounting matters, new accounting standards, and prepare technical accounting papers as required Prepare and review various reports to aid decision making and compliance across the Codan group Assist with the preparation of ESG report. What makes a successful Senior Accountant? Thriving in this newly created role requires a strong foundation in finance, degree-level qualification within an aligned discipline and CA/CPA accreditation. Your advanced Excel skills and, ideally, experience with SAP will support your ability to navigate complex financial reporting.With proven experience in a senior accounting environment, you will have a proven track record of driving continuous improvement activities, increasing efficiencies, and streamlining workflows.Beyond your technical expertise, you will play a key role in building a high-performing financial reporting function, collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders, drive meaningful improvements, and align financial processes with broader business objectives.Travel, both domestically and internationally, may be required as part of this role.Benefits and Culture Our culture is supportive and collaborative.
