The Role: This is not your typical accounting role. With this opportunity, you’ll be hands-on from day one, owning the day-to-day financial operations while shaping the financial systems and processes of a fast-scaling ecommerce business. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in high-volume ecommerce environments, with a proven track record in inventory management, cash flow optimization, and scaling businesses. You’ll have the chance to: Build: Establish efficient, technology-driven finance processes to support scaling operations. Innovate: Leverage tech and data to improve efficiency, reporting, and insights. Grow: Expand your responsibilities to broader commercial strategy and leadership as the company scales. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and payroll. Develop and implement efficient inventory management systems to support high-volume ecommerce operations. Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure operational liquidity and optimize working capital. Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership. Optimize the use of financial technology to enhance reporting and scalability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial planning with sales, marketing, and operational goals. Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. Ensure compliance with Australian, US, and global tax laws, filing requirements, and regulatory standards. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors. Transition into broader financial leadership as the company grows, including mentoring and developing a high-performing finance team. Multi-Currency Management: Handle multi-currency transactions and financial reporting across different regions. Tax Nexus Compliance: Navigate complex multi-tax nexus environments to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies. Global Financial Operations: Oversee global warehousing operations and inventory management from an accounting perspective. 3PL Coordination: Work with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline financial aspects of global distribution. Importing Requirements: Manage accounting for global importing requirements and ensure compliance with international trade regulations. Distribution Network Accounting: Develop and maintain accounting processes for a robust global distribution network to support international sales. What We’re Looking For: A Senior Accountant with a track record of operational excellence, ideally within high-volume ecommerce or inventory-driven businesses. Experience with financial reporting. Strong technical acumen and an interest in technology-driven solutions to streamline finance operations. Deep understanding of inventory management, supply chain operations, and financial modeling. Exceptional analytical skills with a strategic mindset. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams. A self-starter who thrives in a hands-on environment and is excited by the prospect of building systems and teams from the ground up. Proficiency in financial tools, ERP systems, and ecommerce platforms. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA is a plus. Why Join Us?
