On behalf of our Client, we are seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Senior Accountant to join their highly motivated and talented team in a permanent full-time capacity. Whilst the Head Office is Ballarat based, the firm does have offices in Melbourne; however, some days of the week will need to be based in Ballarat, by negotiation. The Offer: An attractive & great working conditions Working closely with the business partners Your career aspirations encouraged; full support for further training Career opportunities 6 monthly conferences in Melbourne Bi-monthly in-house training sessions Quarterly staff functions Weekly team meetings Monthly team lunches Wellness programs The Role: The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to: Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives; Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail, and property; Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals; Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements; Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns. The Candidate: To be successful in this role, you will need: At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record; Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team; A high focus on providing excellent client service; Excellent time management and attention to detail; A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others; A strong work ethic and initiative; Commitment to further training and professional development. Your background: 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice; Degree qualified and working toward, or preparing to work toward, obtaining CPA status; Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand the deductibility of certain items; Previous exposure to accounting and tax software; strong skills in using MYOB, Xero, and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded. #J-18808-Ljbffr
