Primary Details Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeSenior Actuarial Analyst The opportunity Fantastic career opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst, looking to take the next step in their career Location: Sydney or Melbourne Permanent, Full-Time role Your new role We have an exciting opportunity to join our Pricing Team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst. We are looking for experienced and talented individuals to join our Actuarial team, as we expand our actuarial and pricing function. Reporting to the Actuarial Manager you will perform actuarial calculations to assist the relevant business units in obtaining and managing a profitable business by supporting the work of the senior actuaries. In this position, you will be responsible for: Knowing and applying actuarial and statistical pricing techniques Carrying out data analysis and responsibility for specific outputs Demonstrating ability to apply reasonableness checks and sound judgment to pricing outputs Assessing the impact of pricing on key profit drivers and performance metrics Taking initiative to recommend changes to existing pricing processes Drafting pricing recommendations to be peer-reviewed by more senior actuaries Developing relationships with internal stakeholders About you You have completed the Actuaries Institute’s Part II course or are partway through your Part IIIs. Your sound knowledge and experience from a General Insurance pricing background Experience with using SAS Problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to apply a range of statistical and actuarial techniques to solve technical pricing problems Ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data from several sources and resolve complex issues Strong communication skills, including explaining complicated concepts in a simple way About QBE We can never really predict what’s around the corner, but at QBE we’re asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
