Job Description

The Senior Adviser, Waste to Energy will play a key role in helping to deliver the waste to energy cap licensing scheme and ensuring that Victoria's waste infrastructure system is set up for success. The waste to energy scheme represents a unique opportunity for Victoria to transform the way it manages residual waste and divert waste from landfill whilst ensuring that higher order circular economy outcomes (such as recycling) are upheld.This role provides a great opportunity to work with a passionate and supportive team on interesting and important subject matter at a pivotal time in Victoria's waste management journey. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, etc) or Law (with demonstrated experience working with technical clients in the below sectors) will be highly regarded. Experience working directly with waste to energy or related complex/heavy industry (gas, advanced manufacturing, waste management, etc) will also be very highly regarded. Prior experience working in a government context will also be highly regarded. This is a fixed term position until 31 December 2025. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
