Senior Advisor, Budget Reform and Projects Employment Type: Ongoing Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 9/10 Remuneration: $125,693.00-138,510.00 plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible working options available Applications Close: Monday 24 March 2025 at 10:00am Your day as a Senior Advisor Your typical day-to-day as a Senior Advisor will include undertaking research and providing policy advice on matters related to public sector budget management and performance. Your role will involve building and maintaining relationships within NSW Treasury and across the NSW Government to progress projects from concept to completion. Your duties will include spearheading both quantitative and qualitative research, performing thorough analyses and evaluations to formulate well-founded conclusions, and crafting recommendations for senior decision-makers. You’ll also contribute to shaping the NSW Treasury’s position and advice on budget-related policy matters, while leveraging strong project management skills to effectively advance major initiatives. The team works in a collaborative manner, and your role will involve a mix of leading on individual projects or being part of small project teams. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Tertiary qualification in public policy, economics, accounting, finance, law or another related field Sound understanding and professional experience working within the area of fiscal policy and/or public sector financial management policy, including the budget process, whole-of-government budget management policies and frameworks Demonstrated experience in analysing financial data and applying quantitative analysis techniques Demonstrated ability to communicate policy or financial analysis clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing) Experience leading individual projects or policy from concept, development to implementation Demonstrated experience engaging, negotiating, influencing and communicating effectively at a senior level Previous experience working in a highly collaborative environment with strong interpersonal skills.
