Senior Advisor, Policy & Budget, Strategic Reform and Policy Employment Type: Fixed term – 12 months, potential for ongoing opportunities in the future Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 9/10 Remuneration: $125,693.00 - $138,510.00 plus Superannuation and Leave Loading Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible working options available Applications Close: Wednesday 5 March 2025 at 9:59am Your day as a Senior Advisor As a Senior Advisor , you will bring a high level of expertise and make a significant contribution to developing, communicating and implementing policies, guidance and other strategies for policy decision making. You will lead several projects primarily focused on early childhood education and care. As a Senior Advisor, you will develop your skills and expertise in qualitative or quantitative analysis. The Strategic Policy, Education, and Customer Service Division collaborates with a diverse team to create evidence-based solutions for government challenges. Leveraging financial and non-financial performance data, the division provides strategic advice to senior decision-makers across various policy areas, including Aboriginal outcomes, energy, environment, digital, education, skills, procurement, and customer service. Their whole-of-government approach emphasises diversity, well-being, and flexible work arrangements. Additionally, the Strategic Reform & Policy Team within the division focuses on major policy and financial reforms, working closely with other teams to inform government decisions. You will be joining our Strategic Policy & Customer Services Group and will be working within the Policy & Budget Division . What you can bring to the role. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Tertiary qualifications in relevant fields which may include commerce, law, accounting, economics or public policy. Demonstrated research, analytical, conceptual and strategic thinking skills. Broad experience in policy development and reform. Experience in providing high quality policy advice. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team delivering outcomes to tight deadlines. Excellent project management skills. Knowledge of public sector financial and performance management, internal audit and risk management, or governance and compliance issues and trends (desirable).
