Senior Advisor, Work Health Safety Management System, Programs and Delivery Clerk Grade: 9/10 Temporary up to 12 months and talent pool to be created for future ongoing rolesLocation: 4PSQ Parramatta or Gosford or Sydney McKell location (travel required between these locations)Salary Range: $125,693 to $138,510 p.a base salary + superPeople Services, People & Culture, Department of Customer Service About the Opportunity: The People & Culture Division at the Department of Customer Service has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor, Work Health Safety Management System, Programs and Delivery to join our high-performing and progressive Safety & Risk Management team. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively within a centralised People Services Centre of Expertise function, in which you will conduct a range of activities including: Lead the development, implementation and management of the work health and safety management system in accordance with all relevant health and safety legislation and AS/NZ 4501 requirements to drive the continuous improvement of health and safety across the Department. A key focus is on critical risks, continual improvement of WHS performance and contribute to the analysis of WHS performance and risk control programs. Provide specialist and technical WHS advice and lead WHS project activities across the project lifecycle. Collaborate with key stakeholders to embed a strong safety culture across the Department. Effectively communicate WHS strategies and relate policies and procedures that align with the Department strategy and approach. Working collaboratively with your peers, you will embed modern and agile ways of working to deliver a world-class people and culture function and create great employee experiences. Your day-to-day: Your responsibilities will include the development implementation of the WHS management system and procedures, lead and manage the delivery of WHS projects and activities across the project life cycle, and assist in the implementation of risk identification and control strategies specific activities. Support teams in ensuring compliance with safety requirements. Provide expert guidance and advice on safety best practices. Lead and develop a team of safety professionals. About You: To be successful in this role you will possess a great blend of skills, including: Previous experience in a work health and safety role, ideally within a government or large organisation. Strong knowledge, understanding and application of work health and safety legislation and regulations in New South Wales with a familiarity of international standards. Demonstrated experience in managing WHS compliance. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in the development of WHS policy and policy advice. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. A collaborative and proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and also work independently. Experience with continuous improvement activities to deliver business outcomes.
