Your new role AustralianSuper’s Valuation Team currently manages the valuation of over $38 billion of unlisted Infrastructure and Property investments as well as Debt and Private Equity investments globally. The Valuation Team also has oversight of over $40 billion of unlisted investments held under managed funds. As an Analyst or Senior Analyst in the Valuation Team you will assist the team in working with independent valuers and the Fund’s Asset Class teams to ensure a robust end-to-end valuation process of a portfolio of directly held assets that is growing in both size and complexity. This will involve analytical work, navigating financial models, drafting papers and presentations, and working collaboratively with peers and senior colleagues within the Mid Risk and Private Equity Groups to share investment insights, technical skills, and support priority activities. Key duties include but are not limited to: Supporting the valuation process for unlisted assets (Property and Debt/Credit) managed by the Valuation Team. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating stakeholder meetings, reviewing independent valuation reports, performing shadow valuations and cross-check analyses, verifying accuracy of inputs, assessing the reasonableness of key assumptions; Assisting with internal valuations to support the timely and accurate valuation of certain investments that are not valued externally; Preparing quarterly reporting for the Real Assets portfolio; Researching & providing insights that will ultimately support valuation analysis (e.g. transactions, industry & market trends) and collating key valuations metrics / assumptions to ensure assets are appropriately valued with consideration to market conditions and consistency across the investment portfolio; Contributing to valuation papers provided to the Valuation Committee in support of assessment of investment valuation recommendation; Preparing Requests for Proposal documents to assist with the appointment of independent valuers to new and rotating assets in the portfolio; Assisting with regulatory requirements (e.g. APRA, external audit). What you’ll need: Experience working within an established real estate company, specialist valuation firm or an institutional/corporate investing organisation; Experience in property valuations, ideally in retail and BTR residential space; Experience with the preparation of reports, analysis of information and drawing of conclusions; Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal); Attention to detail and good time management skills; Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Property or other relevant area; Post graduate qualifications/memberships – AAPI/MRICS; Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills; Familiarity with Argus Enterprise and Forbury Valuation Software would be ideal.
