About the Role I'm seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automation Orchestration Management (AOM) Engineer to join this switched on team within an enterprise organisation. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving network automation, orchestration, and the seamless integration of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) practices. Collaborating across teams, you will design, implement, and optimize automation solutions that align with business needs and technical objectives. Key Responsibilities Act as a technical SME throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring delivery of customer-ready product increments. Prepare detailed performance reports related to IT service delivery and technical challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation solutions using Cisco NSO. Develop CI / CD pipelines, automating testing, validation, and deployment of network automation changes. Create robust automation scripts using Python and ensure adherence to coding standards. Promote and implement principles of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and Continuous Testing (CT). Optimize automation workflows and incorporate iterative feedback for improvements. Ensure compliance with security policies, integrating security best practices into automation workflows. Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation solutions, processes, and CI / CD pipelines. Respond to technical queries and support team members and customers in delivering automation solutions. Technical Expertise The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience in the following areas: Proficiency in Python and YANG data modelling for network services. Experience with RESTful APIs, web services, and handling JSON data structures. Hands-on experience with Cisco NSO and CNC, including design and troubleshooting of automation solutions. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Ansible. Proficient in using Git for tracking changes in automation scripts. Practical experience working in an Agile environment. Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve automation-related issues. Working knowledge of Azure or AWS. Skills & Experience Needed: Proven experience in SDN and Model-Driven DevOps (MDD) approaches. Proficiency in network automation with Cisco NSO, Ansible, and Python. Hands-on experience with CI / CD / CT processes and tools. Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, QoS). Ability to mentor junior team members and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions. Prior exposure to Cisco BPA workflows and service provider networks. Nice to Have Experience: Deep understanding of service provider architecture and modern networking solutions. Exposure or experience in routing protocols such as BGP and ISIS. Experience with diverse network technologies, architectures, and operating systems (e.g., IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, JunOS). Broad knowledge of enterprise and service provider network design and integration. On offer is an initial three-month contract with likely extensions and a competitive daily rate.
