Job Description

The Senior Automation Tester will be primarily focused on automation and will be responsible for implementing and executing test scripts, executing and identifying/reporting bugs to ensure the delivery of a reliable and scalable platform to customers. Working with the Test Lead, he/she will be involved with planning, design, and building the client automation test framework, standards, and guidelines. He/she will be a critical part of the client's strategy to continue the path of transforming the products from a functional testing capability to an automated testing capability. You will be working for our Australia based client. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs, implements, operates, and maintains new and existing automated testing framework/s to support testing of front-end, API, database tiers across different browsers and devices. Develops, executes, maintains, and optimises automated tests based on existing, updated, and new manual test cases written by the functional testers. Provides clear and reliable reporting of automated test execution results and bugs to ensure delivery of reliable and scalable products to our customers. Performs and participates in code reviews to promote best practices in the test automation space. Works in conjunction with the Test Lead to create best practice assessments of the current level of testing methods, processes, standardisation; followed by the design, tailoring, consultation, implementation and standardisation of those methods and techniques across all future work. Applies knowledge of quality assurance and testing areas to define quality and test strategy. Creates and maintains the project quality plan and project test plan. Executes tests and provides updates to the project team to meet quality objectives. Performs self-based training in upcoming technologies, quality approaches, and testing techniques. Manages and maintains excellent and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and always provides excellent service and support. Effectively communicates and sets direction with clients. Champions the implementation of new testing approaches or new technology. Prepares weekly and monthly regular reports of progress. Willing to take on new responsibilities as may be assigned by management. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Strong working knowledge in Manual and Automation Testing using multiple testing tools and technical testing approaches. Proficient in automation, preferably in Playwright and Selenium. Performance testing, Load, Stress Testing. JMeter (performance testing tool). Experience in JavaScript based performance testing tools like K6, Artillery and similar. Functional test automation experience using tools like Selenium, WebDriver IO, Cypress, Robot Framework. BDD (automation) implementation experience, Selenium specifically. CI/CD pipeline implementation experience using Jenkins. Experience in Git workflow. API automation testing. Java, .NET, Typescript, JavaScript programming experience. Strong analytical skills to identify test plan automation possibilities. Excellent professional communication skills. Highly self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, decisive, and has a positive attitude towards work. Strong time management skills, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills. Flexible and adaptable. DESIRED COMPETENCIES: ISTQB Foundation Certification. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
