About the role The Senior Biosecurity Inspector (Animal Welfare and Biosecurity) is critical to delivering field-level regulatory activities relating to animal welfare, animal biosecurity, and product integrity. Your duties will include: Investigate potential breaches of legislation, secure evidence, and produce reports. This may include in meat works/ abattoir facilities while they are processing. Undertake inspections often in intense and emotionally challenging environments. Provide education to the community on their requirements under the Animal Welfare Act. Administrative activities including record keeping, data management, and development of policies, procedures, and plans. Certificate IV in Government (Investigations), or equivalent. Certificate IV or higher qualifications in animal science, agriculture or a related discipline. Firearms licence, or capacity to obtain a firearms licence.
