Job Description

Senior Business Analyst, Information Technology & Asset Services Employment Type: Temporary. We may use this recruitment process to create a talent pool for future Temporary and Ongoing opportunities. Employment period: Up to January 2026. Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 9/10. Remuneration: $125,693.00 - $138,510.00 plus Superannuation and Leave Loading. Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible & hybrid working options available. Role impact & contribution The Financial Management and Services group handles NSW Treasury's core services, including workforce and culture, internal finances, strategy, business performance, IT, facilities management, and communications, in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel. The IT team maintains the IT infrastructure, leads digital workplace management, and supports applications, records technology, budget systems, cyber security, data analytics, and reporting, ensuring the availability and maintenance of physical and digital facilities. The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will review and analyse the organisation's business intentions, services, processes, and information needs to identify improvements. This role involves conducting research, evaluating functional and non-functional requirements, and developing technical and non-technical specifications documentation. Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts. You will be joining our Financial Management and Services Group and will be working within the Information Technology & Asset Services Division. Achieve success as a Senior Business Analyst The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Extensive relevant experience in a similar role and/or experience in Information Technology. Strong analytical skills with astute attention to detail. Demonstrated experience in using process/workflow modeling techniques (e.g. data flow diagrams, Business Process Modeling Notation, among others). Proven experience in conducting assessments to identify business processes with automation potential. Demonstrated currency of knowledge in agile software development life cycle delivery.
