Voluntary, Charity & Social WorkSource: Sunshine Coast Student Jobs Hub JOB DESCRIPTION An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Carer Peer Coordinator within the Adolescent Day Program Child & Youth Speciality Services Unit. A Senior Carer Peer Coordinator works to facilitate the delivery, development and planning of support services to carers of consumers of the mental health service, managing the operations of a discrete element, or peer workforce program. This role promotes and provides guidance to the development and ongoing management of consumer and carer participation and provides systems advocacy in relation to consumer, carer and family related issues. Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. Key Responsibilities include: Serve as a positive role model to other carers and families and be open to sharing personal lived experience of assisting a person with mental health needs. Effectively communicate with consumers, carers, professional groups, and all service providers to assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating a mental health consumer focused service. Manage the operations of an organisational element which is part of the peer workforce organisational structure. Identify areas for improvement to service, policy, and procedures, and be involved in Mental Health Service policy and procedure development, ensuring mental health consumer and carer requirements are addressed and prioritised through providing information from the consumer and carer perspective. Remuneration value up to $65,526 p.a., comprising salary rates: $53.24 - $57.92 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO5 (Part time position available, 38 hrs p.f.). Applications will remain current for 12 months.
