With over 40 years of continuous operations, Stanwell’s experience in working with communities to build, operate and maintain reliable energy generation assets is also being applied to the rollout of renewable energy. Stanwell is developing a pipeline of renewable energy and storage projects throughout Queensland, whilst maintaining a reliable supply of baseload power from two of the most efficient and reliable coal-fired power stations in Australia – the Tarong power stations near Kingaroy and Stanwell Power Station near Rockhampton. About the role This is a full-time opportunity that can be located at any Stanwell location. Within the Mining, Repairs and Maintenance Portfolio, the Senior Category Specialist plays a key role in providing end to end management of procurement projects. The Senior Category Specialist delivers optimal outcomes across procurement category spends of goods and services. This involves providing its customers high quality category strategies that reflect an expert understanding of the supply market and in line with contemporary best practice sourcing activities. Key activities include: Develop high quality Sourcing Strategies, Category Plans and Procurement plans focused on optimal outcomes across procurement portfolio. Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on category objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation. Demonstrate commercial outcomes for complex contracts whilst maintaining good governance and consistency with both Stanwell and Queensland Procurement Policies. About you Extensive operational experience in the development and implementation of category management plans, ideally in asset intensive industries e.g. Mining, Construction, Utilities, etc. Experience in account management for suppliers delivering a range of services to customers in asset intensive industries. Broad experience in the use of contract precedents and different styles of contracts for the procurement of goods and services. Strong contract management and project management skills.
