Senior Classification & Placement Officer | Junee Correctional Centre Division: Corrective Services NSW Location: Junee, NSW, AU, 2663 Employment type: Ongoing opportunity Salary: $110,266 - $122,058 pa plus superannuation and employer’s contribution to leave loading and environmental allowance Talent Pool creation for Junee Only: Roles will not commence until 01 April 2025, candidates may also be selected from the Talent Pool close to April 2025. Your role As a Senior Classification and Placement Officer, you will play a key role in the classification and placement of inmates across the CSNSW network. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the justice system, ensuring efficient placement that enhances both inmate management and rehabilitation efforts. What you’ll do Provide expert advice on classification and placement procedures, ensuring compliance. Coordinate, supervise and participate in the operations of the Classification and Placement team (CPT) in a custodial environment to achieve quality outcomes. Provide advice to stakeholders on the full scope of Inmate Classification and Placement Procedures. Resolve issues on classification and placement of inmates and oversee the collation of inmate review applications. Conduct thorough analysis of information to ensure critical and relevant information concerning an inmate is assessed. Generate reports, identify inmates to be transferred, complete required checks and documentation. Review and monitor records of inmate numbers, population mix and status to provide details to Correctional Centre and Classification Management. Manage and develop the team capability in all applicable policies, procedures and legislation regarding inmate classification and placement functions. What we’re looking for Expertise in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and procedures related to inmate classification and placement. Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and process complex inmate information. Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to unplanned events in a fast-paced environment. A current and valid driving licence with a willingness to travel within NSW.
