Job Description

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Manager to lead and oversee clinical operations within our Aged Care Facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a dedicated team of clinical professionals. The successful candidate will foster a learning culture, prioritize safety, and contribute to continuous improvement in resident care outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage clinical staff, ensuring high standards of care are delivered in line with organizational goals. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the clinical team. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote continuous quality improvement initiatives. Supervise clinical assessments and care plan reviews, ensuring a holistic approach to care. Respond promptly and effectively to serious incidents and manage them according to Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) guidelines. Foster a culture of mentorship and professional development for the clinical team. Collaborate with external healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive resident care. Participate in audits, accreditation processes, and risk management activities. Key Selection Criteria: Essential: Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in aged care, including at least 3 years in a senior clinical leadership role. Extensive knowledge of aged care accreditation standards and regulations. Advanced clinical expertise in areas such as wound management and palliative care. Proven ability to lead clinical teams, inspire staff, and drive positive clinical outcomes. Experience in managing clinical deterioration, using critical thinking and clinical judgment. Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement processes. Professional Responsibilities: Maintain high ethical standards and professional practice according to AHPRA and other relevant regulations. Stay updated on current aged care practices, trends, and relevant legislation. Lead clinical teams in the delivery of person-centred care and continuous improvement. Manage clinical staff effectively, providing guidance and support through performance reviews, training, and professional development. Human Resources Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and supervise clinical and care staff to ensure optimal care delivery. Support staff through orientation, training, and performance management. Promote open communication and ensure a positive, collaborative work environment. Health and Safety Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, providing a safe working environment for all staff, residents, and visitors. Act as a role model for safety practices and emergency management. Required Qualifications & Experience: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. At least 5 years of full-time experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least 3 years in a senior clinical role. Experience with clinical governance and driving continuous improvement within an aged care setting. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and support clinical teams.
