This position is designed for you to exercise your therapeutic and assessment expertise in our inpatient precinct, which includes our acute inpatient unit, extended care unit, and parent-infant unit. We are seeking a candidate who wants to work with a variety of complex presentations, where you will undertake comprehensive assessments (which could include cognitive/personality assessments), clinical formulation, collaboration with our psychiatrists and multi-disciplinary team, provide psychological interventions in individual/group formats, and make recommendations to the multidisciplinary treatment teams. Acute Precinct role: Greater opportunity for diagnostic clarification and working with both short-term and longer-term inpatient admissions, as well as a greater variety of presentations, including patients admitted to the parent-infant unit. We value your expertise in providing psychological interventions to our longer-term patients and your skills in establishing rapport and positive therapeutic alliances with patients with co-morbidities. We will seek your knowledge and ability to make therapeutically oriented recommendations to families and patients and work therapeutically in both group and individual formats.
