Senior Clinician - Child and Youth Phone Triage Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Hours per fortnight: 80 Initial point of contact for infants, children & young people, aged between 0-25 years. Work across 3 shifts between 07h & 22h Mon to Fri and 2 shifts 07h & 22h on weekend. About Barwon Health Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, providing care at all stages of life and circumstance. We serve more than 500,000 people through the efforts of more than 9000 staff and volunteers across more than 20 sites. MHDAS provides integrated and recovery-oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families. About the role Clinicians within the team complete high-quality and timely mental health, alcohol and other drug triages to determine the most appropriate treatment and care pathways for infants, children and young people. Referrals are received in written and telephone form, with the triage process undertaken primarily by phone. Triage clinicians provide clinical advice, recommendations, and referrals. Senior clinicians demonstrate leadership in the ongoing development of the Child and Youth Triage team and the broader Acute Intervention Services programme. They provide direct support to RPN3 clinicians and may act as the Phone Triage Manager when the manager is on leave, as well as manage staffing emergent shortfalls.
