Senior Clinician (Intake), Prison Disability Support Initiative (PDSI) Job Function: Prison and Corrective Services Work Type: Fixed term - full time About this role Better support, better outcomes: help people in custody with disabilities get the care they need. Lead a team of disability intake clinicians overseeing neurological and physical capacity assessments. Full-time, fixed-term role until mid-2026. Earn $109,730 – $132,764 per year plus super (VPS Grade 5). Hybrid role – work from home, CBD-based head office and Victorian correctional facilities. Where you will be working The prison disability support initiative (PDSI) is a state-wide rehabilitation service that assists people in custody with cognitive impairments and complex disability needs. The PDSI is a unit within Corrections Victoria, which is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. The PDSI aims to: Identify prisoners with neurological and physical impairments. Assess disability needs to inform decisions on placement, case management and rehabilitation. Educate corrections staff on how to better understand and support the people in their care. Link individuals with appropriate disability support services. What you will do As the senior intake clinician with PDSI, you will lead the team triaging and supporting assessment and relevant recommendations for people in custody with cognitive impairment. You will: Screen and triage referrals , identifying disability-related needs and making recommendations. Conduct file reviews, psychometric testing and clinical consultations for individuals with suspected cognitive impairment and complex needs. Ensure intake and triage processes align with best practices , including documentation and risk management. Support the training and professional development of staff and stakeholders. A relocation allowance may be available for eligible candidates. Preferred experience You will need a high level of clinical expertise in disability and forensic settings to thrive in this role. You will also possess: Registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or another relevant tertiary qualification. Minimum of three years post-registration experience in a relevant field. Specialist endorsement and/or experience in a clinical or forensic field (desirable).
