Organisation: Department of Premier and Cabinet Occupation: Other Reference: VG/1841329 An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission as Senior Complaints Officer . The Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission (the Commission) is an independent body responsible for managing allegations of parliamentary misconduct involving members of parliament, ministers, and parliamentary secretaries. The Commission can receive, manage, and resolve allegations of parliamentary misconduct and inappropriate parliamentary workplace behaviour. This includes receiving complaints of bullying, harassment, discrimination, victimisation, and occupational violence and aggression. The Senior Complaints Officer will lead the Commission's referral and complaint management handling function. This will involve setting up new systems and processes as well as active complaints handling. A general understanding of dispute resolution and/or investigations will be highly regarded. The role will also require a clear, authoritative, and empathetic communicator who is well-versed in the requirements of integrity bodies. This is a unique opportunity for a high-performing complaints officer looking to use their skills and to make a significant contribution in establishing a new integrity commission with oversight of parliamentary workplace standards. About you As our ideal candidate you will have: Demonstrated expertise in complex complaints handling, case management, dispute resolution, and/or investigations. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with empathy and a trauma-informed lens. Highly developed strategic, analytical, and problem-solving ability, including demonstrated lateral thinking and the ability to apply sound judgement to complex problems. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, ensuring tasks are delivered within agreed deadlines, together with strong planning and organisation skills. Proven ability to work proactively, both alone and as part of a team and successfully perform a leading role in complaints or investigation settings. A sound knowledge of legal, regulatory, and/or public sector environments, and a familiarity with working with legislation, or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
