About the role: As the Senior Coordinator, Ground Operations you are responsible for overseeing the planning, management, scheduling and implementation of activities to ensure the University campus environments are managed in accordance with its sustainability initiatives and values, meets its legislative requirements, whilst delivering a unique and welcoming campus experience to students, staff and visitors across all campuses. You will lead a team that manages the maintenance of the university’s grounds and gardens. As a Senior Coordinator, Ground Operations you will: Lead and manage the team responsible for the university’s grounds and gardens, ensuring operational efficiency Plan, design, and maintain ongoing works programs, projects, and landscaping to a high standard and in a safe and aesthetically appealing way Lead the development of campus-based action sustainability projects including Biodiversity, Integrated Water and Waste Management. Maintain data analytics and develop proposals for initiatives that will reduce potable water consumption, enhance biodiversity and minimise waste to contribute to achieving Deakin’s water, biodiversity and waste sustainability targets Create systems and procedures, including Geographical Information Systems capturing environmental assets of the University To be successful, you’ll have: Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or Extensive experience and management expertise; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in fields of horticulture, biodiversity and/or arboriculture Extensive experience in the management of significant human and material resources.
