Role Summary: An opportunity exists for a Senior Cyber Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the secure design, implementation, and operation of IT systems across government agencies. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Service Design & Integration , this role focuses on integrating robust security controls into products and services, with a strong emphasis on a government-wide security and performance logging solution . Key Responsibilities: Provide expert security engineering advice on security best practices, risk assessment, and technical security controls. Lead the design, implementation, and enforcement of security architectures, policies, and compliance frameworks. Ensure security services such as authentication, authorization, monitoring, auditing, and incident response are effectively implemented. Contribute to governance and compliance in cybersecurity, ensuring adherence to relevant industry and government standards. Develop and maintain security mechanisms to uphold system integrity and protection. Support annual cybersecurity programs and reporting requirements in alignment with security frameworks. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of security engineering, risk assessment, and compliance frameworks . Experience with security architectures, technical security controls, and secure system development . Proficiency in security monitoring, auditing, and incident response . Hands-on experience with SIEM log management (highly advantageous). Mandatory Requirements: Possession of a National Police Clearance before commencing. Willingness to undergo AGSVA security clearance (Baseline or NV1) post-commencement, if required. Preferred Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field . Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent (preferred).
