Senior Cyber Security Analyst - Cyber Threat Intelligence, Ongoing opportunity with flexible office locations + hybrid options Ongoing opportunity in the Cyber Threat Intelligence team Grade 9/10 role within DCS Cyber & Information Security Office (CISO) Salary range: $125,693 - $138,510+ super (11.5%) Excellent leave entitlements: 20 days annual leave and up to an additional 24 days of flexible leave. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the DCS Cyber & Information Security Office (CISO) working closely with DCS agencies to uplift and improve cyber security ensuring DCS digital services are safe and secure. About the role The Cyber Threat Intelligence team are tasked with leading the provision of strategic, operational and tactical cyber threat intelligence to pre-emptively prevent cyber attacks and reduce the likelihood and consequences of cyber attacks on the department. We do this by applying the intelligence process to support the fortification of defenses, safeguarding of sensitive data, and protection of government services that are delivered by divisions and agencies within DCS. We are looking to recruit a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join the Cyber Threat Intelligence team. This role will focus on operational and technical cyber intelligence to mitigate cyber security threats and risks for DCS by leveraging cyber threat intelligence and technical proficiencies and collaboration with stakeholders, to improve cyber security response in an evolving threat environment. Responsibilities include: Proactively monitor, identify, assess and alert to cyber security issues and threats Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on cyber security issues in order to monitor, detect, report and share information on incidents, threats and trends to support informed decision making Analyse and assess cyber threats to DCS services, assets and information to determine attribution, motivation and capability Timely delivery of actionable advice, intelligence and reporting on cyber security incidents, threats, trends and issues Identify stakeholder requirements and prioritise workload to meet agreed outcomes and timeframes to ensure prompt resolution of issues Develop and lead projects with an aim to ensure continuous improvement of the team and DCS’s cyber security posture About you Experience in strategic, operational and tactical cyber threat intelligence with an awareness of current cyber threats and issues An understanding of information security and intelligence principles and concepts Problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to think outside of the box to formulate plausible scenarios and conduct accurate analysis Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster effective working relationships and provide advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels Experience in cyber security, intelligence or related environments. Skills or experience with tools or techniques used in threat hunting or cyber threat intelligence platforms would be an advantage Qualifications in cyber security or industry qualifications in cyber threat intelligence will be highly regarded Essential Requirements Australian citizenship with the successful applicant having, or being able to attain and maintain, an NV2 security clearance or higher as a condition of employment When Applying for this Role When applying for this role, please include your resume (no more than five pages) and a cover letter (no more than two pages) providing an overview of your suitability to the role based on the ‘Responsibilities’ and ‘About You’ sections.
