Location : Sydney, CBD, hybrid (3 days in office) Package : $180,000 - $195,000 + super + 17% performance bonus Are you tired of being micromanaged? You’ve got the nouse to develop and execute technical strategy. To solve complex problems and build PoC microservice platforms. But you don’t have the right leadership. We’d like to change that for you. Backed by the right leadership, you could change how this team manages non-production environments using containerized microservices at a global (Canva / Atlassian-esque) scale. You’ll be the 2iC to the Director of Engineering and lead the technical execution of a groundbreaking PoC to create on-demand non-production microservice environments. Think of this as a skunk-works project, with the right backing. They’re investing in this high-visibility project. It would mean a drastic reduction in associated non-prod costs as well as engineering downtime and frustration due to static changes. This means you’ll have the time to deep-dive into the analysis, understand the needs, workflows and complexities across tech and engineering and build a viable PoC. You’ll also have support from a DevOps Engineer described as a ‘rising star’. So you can continue to develop your leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. Once the PoC is built, we expect you’ll start to grow that team to deliver your implementation. The make-up of the technical environment is GCP, Golang, DevOps, and environment-building containerised microservices (Kubernetes). The challenge here is the fact many have tried but few have succeeded in doing this in Australia. The nature of this work means you're inheriting a myriad of legacy systems. The need to extract specific data from large databases enabling you to spin up containers and parallel services to find out what works is a complex job. Why will you like it here? Particularly with Senior Engineering leaders in a high-performance environment working at a global scale. What we need from you?
