Role Description : The Senior Electrical, Automation and Control Engineer is an exciting opportunity in our Perth CBD Office. The Senior Engineer will bring high-level knowledge and expertise to the Engineering team in Automation, Controls, Instrumentation & Functional Risk Engineering related to Power Generation Systems. The Senior Engineer will engage and work with the Synergy Site teams to develop strategies and provide recommendations to identify and manage risk, to continuously improve the reliability and performance of our current and future generation assets, develop unit performance assessment plans, and execute projects. Job responsibilities : Act as Subject Matter Expert in the Field of Automation & Control Systems related to the Power Generation Industry. Provide Guidance and Leadership in the field of Industrial Automation, Turbine Controls, Automation Platforms (DCS, SCADA, Turbine Control Systems, etc.) & Communications Systems (Fieldbus, Profibus, IEC61850, etc.) Provide Guidance and Support on Generating Unit Dispatch Systems including Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Monitoring and Recording Systems. Leverage knowledge and experience in Power Plant & Turbine Control Systems (GE, ABB, etc.) in analysing and troubleshooting Generating unit Control and Governor Systems. Electrical Engineering Risk Identification / Management and Functional Safety, particularly applied to control systems under the framework of IEC61508 and participate in Functional Risk Management Exercises for New Projects and Existing facilities, including Hazard Identification, Layer of Protection Analysis and Risk Mitigation. What you will bring : Professional qualification in Engineering in the Control, Automation & Instrumentation Space. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in the Power Generation / Service Industry with at least 10 years proven practical experience. Experience in Turbine Control (GE, ABB, etc.) Systems, SCADA Platforms (Citect / ABB / Siemens, Ignition, etc.) and Communication Architectures. Experience in PLC Platforms and Communication Architectures (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) Familiarity and experience with Control System Functional Safety and Risk Management Concepts.
