As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll create and implement cloud and edge computing solutions that power our innovation initiatives. These range from real-time computer vision applications to automation tools that improve our internal processes. Your skills and experiences will help us reinvent the shopping experience for our customers and build the next generation of digital retailing. Your Impact and Key Responsibilities: The Senior Software Engineer designs and builds innovative software applications to run in the cloud or supermarket edge environment. Your projects will vary from quick prototypes and MVPs to scaled-out platforms. You will work with the wider Technology Innovation team (including DevOps Engineers, ML Engineers, Electronics Engineers, BAs, and Iteration Managers) to generate high-quality software solutions, including architecture and design, that balance project need with strategic alignment. You'll: Provide leadership and technical excellence for software engineering working alongside BAs, architects, software engineers, ML engineers, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver and support the development and delivery of solutions Create and maintain software solutions ranging from full-stack web applications to real-time computer vision Create detailed component designs for software applications, balancing delivery quality, timeframes, and budget Partner with DevOps and machine learning teams to uplift processes and practices that increase speed of delivery while maintaining robust security practices Coach and mentor team members regarding modern, best practice software development About you and your skills We are looking for a dedicated Senior Software Engineer with experience in delivering high-quality software applications within both edge on-premises and cloud-based environments. Day to day you will spend most of your time developing and updating containerized Python applications and the deployment framework surrounding them (Azure DevOps pipelines, JFrog Artifactory, Kubernetes). Our current technology stack includes: Languages: Python, JavaScript (Typescript), React Cloud & Edge Platforms: Microsoft Azure (AKS, ML Studio, HCI) Infrastructure: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka CI/CD: Azure DevOps, ArgoCD Databases: PostgreSQL, CosmoDB Machine Learning: Computer Vision, DeepStream, Triton Development Practices: GitOps, CI/CD, Agile, IaaS, Microservice Architecture We recognize that candidates will bring diverse combinations of skills and experience and that while experience with these specific tools is valuable, we're more interested in your ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
