Here, you’ll lead a team of data engineers within a security function that is pioneering the adoption of a next generation cloud data platform to drive advanced security analytics and AI. As a team leader, you will be a key contributor in defending CBA’s customers, staff, and technology while nurturing a cohort of highly skilled and motivated engineers. We are seeking people who: Have a proven track record and recent hands-on experience in delivering high-quality cloud data platforms at an Enterprise level to solve core business objectives Are highly proficient in identifying technology limitations and deficiencies in technical solutions and designs Are highly motivated with the perseverance to challenge the status quo Are a leader that drives a culture of quality, excellence, openness, and exceptional delivery Provide thought leadership and create a positive team environment conducive to continuous improvement Are comfortable working across the full lifecycle of agile projects (ideation through implementation) Are highly experienced in the data engineering workflow to create data products consumable by others Have demonstrated an automation and self-service first approach to problems Tech skills: We are driving a strategy to create a best-in-class AWS-based cloud data platform. We use a broad range of innovative tools and services that will enable ML and Generative AI security functions. As such, we are looking for individuals with: Expertise in leading and driving a team of platform engineers utilising AWS services (EMR, Redshift, Glue among others) Experience implementing large-scale self-service enterprise data platforms is highly desirable Strong proficiency in coding/querying languages such as Python/SQL and frameworks like Spark People leadership experience with previous experience in managing engineering roles within a data engineering chapter Strong stakeholder management with a collaborative mindset to co-create solutions to ambiguous problems Familiarity with security domains such as cyber security, identity & access, business resilience, and fraud Proven experience working in financial services or a similarly regulated industry with a strong risk mindset Working with us: Our people bring their diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives to build a respectful, inclusive, and flexible workplace with the ultimate flexibility to work from any of our engineering hubs within Australia.
