Working in the Finance and Administration team in Ministerial Services, the Senior Finance Advisor plays a key role in providing client-focused finance advice and guidance. You will be involved in delivering a range of high-quality financial services focusing on budgeting and reporting. There is an opportunity to assist in developing and implementing modern management accounting policy and reporting providing more timely and meaningful reporting to end users. As the Senior Finance Advisor, you will: Contribute to the provision of effective business and financial planning processes. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high standards of client service. Provide high-quality strategic advice and timely reports on the operation of Ministerial Offices and the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. Lead the annual budget preparation process including contributing to budget submissions, briefing notes and costing models on a range of financial management and budget reporting matters. Lead the monthly financial reporting process and contribute as required to the annual financial reporting and audit process. Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders such as Queensland Treasury, Queensland Shared Services, Ministerial Offices and the Queensland Audit Office regarding finance related matters. Contribute to the development of and adherence to best practice financial policies, procedures and systems in accordance with requirements of relevant legislation and internal guidelines. Contribute to team wellbeing and capability to create a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the Ministerial Services team.
