About the Role The core purpose of the Bank Performance Management team is to add value to Bank/Group by: Working with stakeholders to understand current financial performance and provide a forward looking view of financial performance. Leveraging our knowledge of current/future financial performance to provide ad-hoc analysis to identify risks/opportunities and support decision making. Owning the messages around the Bank’s financial performance; providing insightful commentary on financial performance/management reporting across a range of stakeholders across the Bank, Group and shareholders. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll contribute to the team across all three accountabilities with a predominant focus on the development and delivery of the Bank’s key management reporting obligations. Role Type: 12 Months Fixed Term contract Role Location: Brisbane/Sydney/MelbourneWork Hours: Full time role, 37.5 hours What will your day look like? As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will: Manage relationships within the Bank (Product, Distribution and CFO) and Group finance representatives to understand drivers of current performance and set budgets and forecasts for the Bank. Take a leadership role in the design and implementation of rigorous models/processes on Performance management. Understand and monitor the impact of price/volume decisions on future portfolio performance. Understand and explain balance sheet, margin and profitability dynamics in the portfolio and in the context of the wider bank. Coordinate and prepare Bank reporting deliverables within Finance and across the Bank. Facilitate inputs and review process in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail of internal and external reporting. Take a proactive approach to build relationships with key stakeholders across the Bank and Group. Provide ad-hoc reporting and assistance (scenario analysis) to CFO Banking and Lending as required. Update the Bank’s rolling forecast on a monthly basis, including a summary of the changes in underlying business drivers that are producing a change in the overall forecast results. Maintain the Bank’s rolling forecast system, including sources of data and assumptions to ensure the system is capable of producing the Bank’s rolling revenue forecast at the appropriate level of detail to provide meaningful understanding of the results, but ensuring the system is not too complex such that it impacts the timeliness of the generation of results. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to engage confidently with all levels within the Bank and Group. Strong influencing skills with experience in providing and responding to challenge and feedback. Strong analytical capability (including data analysis) with background in business analysis, management reporting and/or decision support. Strong verbal and business writing skills with experience in reporting to senior leadership/external audience. Proven track record of delivering to tight timeframes, while being able to multi-task and contribute to several key initiatives at the same time. Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting concepts and proficiency in applying concepts to working examples. Strong understanding of management accounting fundamentals. Working knowledge of banking revenue drivers and customer balance sheet dynamics. Qualification in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance related field. Strong professional experience with experience in a Bank/financial institution. You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills.
