Location: Based in Bannockburn, great location and an easy drive from Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne with free onsite parking. Employment Type: Permanent full time role with opportunity to grow. To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a Senior GIS Officer for an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation in the development and operation of Council’s Geographical Information System. Key Responsibilities: Lead the organisation in striving for best practice GIS management by developing and supporting organisational usage of geospatial systems. Be the organisation’s specialist advisor on Council’s geospatial strategic development. Deliver education and tools to the organisation to ensure geospatial activities are conducted according to Council’s policies and procedures. Mentor, support and lead Council staff in order to achieve a high level of capacity with Councils geospatial environments. Qualifications and Skills: Demonstrated experience and knowledge of geographic information systems (ESRI) and the delivery of a GIS service. Strong conceptual, research and analytical skills relating to systems, usage and end-user experience. Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior management and key internal and external stakeholders to work cooperatively on complex projects. Well-developed project management and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to frame, lead and deliver a program of work to achieve objectives within defined timeframes.
