Permanent Full-Time opportunity available (9 day fortnight) Bachelor, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma or higher (or nearing completion) in Work Health and Safety, Risk, Compliance, Health or a related discipline, combined with extensive experience working in a similar role in a large and diverse organisation. LGO8 ($113,644 - $128,384 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience. Our Purpose: Grow Townsville Our Values: Safety, Excellence, Respect, Value, Enjoyment About The Role This role will proactively facilitate and support the delivery of the Health and Safety strategy and framework with a focus on health, safety and training advice, guidance and leadership in collaboration with sections and teams across council. Build a participative relationship model, where education, guidance and expertise address operational issues and build capability within operational areas, contributing to the achievement of service deliverables through a focus on continuous improvement. Lead and develop a team of health, safety and training professionals responsible for the development of appropriate systems, tools, resources and training to ensure all organisational and legislative health, safety and training indicators are achieved. About You Our ideal applicant will have a Bachelor qualification in Work Health and Safety, Risk, Compliance, or a related discipline, combined with extensive experience working in a similar role in a large and diverse organisation with demonstrated highly developed leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with extensive experience (7+ years) leading a team of professionals within a supportive and collaborative work culture.
