About the Role Laing O'Rourke is seeking an adaptable and proactive Technical Business Analyst / Project Manager to join our team in Brisbane. This role involves gathering and analysing business requirements, managing stakeholders, and delivering custom application solutions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working across business analysis and project management disciplines. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Application Development Manager, your responsibilities will include: Identifying and managing stakeholders, facilitating workshops to drive business outcomes. Engaging with stakeholders and maintaining relationships with them. Collaborating with stakeholders and project teams to conduct feasibility analysis, gather functional and non-functional requirements, and develop user stories. Defining and agreeing on project scope at the outset of a project. Ensuring solutions are effective, cost-efficient, and align with in-flight projects or existing solutions. Supporting UAT processes by addressing stakeholder concerns during testing. Contributing to test strategies, test plans, and scripts to ensure solution quality. Translating business requirements into functional specifications and user stories. Analysing business processes to define current and future state models. Facilitating solution rollouts, including training, demos, and change management. Assisting in developing business cases and providing input into procurement decisions. Product ownership of multiple applications. Coordinating releases and managing release cycles. Supporting Production Verification Testing (PVT). Assisting in the investigation of production issues. Collaborating with software development teams and stakeholders to assess priorities of requests. About You Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, with CBAP, IIBA, or SCRUM certification (desirable). Minimum of 8 years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst or System Analyst on technical projects. Strong experience in requirements gathering, writing business requirements, and creating user stories with acceptance criteria. Hands-on experience with Confluence, Jira, and Agile delivery methodologies. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches. Experience in business case development and digital transformation projects. Willingness to support testing activities and change management processes. Proactive self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving skills. Experience in custom application development projects is highly regarded. Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience in working with software development teams. Great communication skills, both spoken and written. Desirable Skills SharePoint and Microsoft PowerApps experience. Experience in process analysis (As-Is, To-Be using BPMN). Corporate data analysis experience. Knowledge of digital transformation initiatives and automation projects. MS SQL experience.
