About our client The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) is Australia’s only public museum dedicated to contemporary art. The MCA presents, collects and engages with the art of now. As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, the MCA raises over 80% of its revenue each year through donations and commercial activities to deliver its artistic and engagement programs. Role responsibilities You will report into the Director, Finance and Corporate Services and be the internal ambassador for IT services within the organisation. The role will blend strategic and operational leadership and oversee budgets, performance, security, systems, and processes. Motivate and manage the IT Services team, drive a high-performance culture, and encourage best practices in procedures, as well as the highest levels of customer service when responding to internal support requests. Manage the BAU for MCA’s IT systems and infrastructure – be responsible for end-user technical support, network server administration, backup, and restoration (ensuring maintenance and support processes are best practices and reviewed regularly). Deliver on the strategic IT objectives of the MCA by contributing to and executing the roadmap of Systems Infrastructure and Applications, ensuring the digital services are optimised and effectively supporting operational activities. Manage technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance in addition to monitoring the cyber security risk profile of the MCA, auditing frequently to ensure compliance with the latest standards and guidelines. Business partner internally to provide advice and guidance on IT matters, building effective relationships to gather requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and suggest/deliver on improvements. Oversee the delivery of AV services, to ensure flawless delivery of MCA events (selection/procurement review of equipment and workforce planning to ensure the events are fully staffed). Liaise with external IT providers, build strong relationships with these partners to ensure value for money regarding technical support, and be across the market for new vendors providing efficient, cost-effective solutions. Manage the annual IT budget and quarterly review, understanding upcoming needs for new and replacement hardware/software, and adjusting the budget accordingly. A strong growth mindset with creative problem-solving abilities – able to tackle challenges head-on and lead with solutions. Experience in managing resources and a budget effectively to cover technical/systems applications/issues and to allocate resources for successful project delivery. Robust technical expertise from a similar role (with relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience), managing an IT department providing IT infrastructure systems development, implementation, support, and maintenance as well as successful delivery of IT system transformation projects. Experience with hybrid cloud/on-premise client server technology, network administration, digital platform integrations, and architecture. Sound understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating systems and applications, including Azure, Office 365, Endpoint, Intune, and Active Directory. A good technical knowledge of Local Area Networks (LAN), HPE/Aruba networking products and protocols, Network Storage (NAS or SAN), Windows Servers, Virtualisation, N-able or similar RMM software, telephony including mobile phone devices, AV technologies, enterprise Wi-Fi systems, and IT security systems.
