Company: We are partnering with a leading ASX-listed organisation that is customer-focused and innovation-led. Join an elite cyber security team that specialises in incident response, threat intelligence, and defensive operations across the enterprise. Your Role: We are looking for a Senior Defensive Response Specialist to play a crucial role in strengthening cyber defence operations and improving incident response capabilities. You will act as a bridge between the Threat Intelligence and Incident Response teams while mentoring a technical incident response analyst and collaborating across business units. You will have the opportunity to shape cyber defence strategies, respond to critical cyber incidents as they arise, and drive proactive defensive security improvements. Responsibilities: Serve as a subject matter expert for cyber incident response, supporting divisions that lack in-house technical expertise. Investigate, analyse, and align incidents with the MITRE ATT&CK framework to ensure clear, actionable recommendations. Collaborate with IT and security teams to provide deep insights into cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. Lead and coordinate post-incident reviews, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into security improvements. Provide mentorship and leadership to analysts, fostering skill development and knowledge-sharing. Develop standardised protocols and playbooks to enhance response effectiveness and prevention strategies. Influence cyber defence strategies and risk mitigation efforts across various departments. Work discreetly and professionally, demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills and emotional intelligence. Required Skills: Incident Response expertise, including post-incident reviews, investigative processes, and cyber threat analysis. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders effectively, including presenting IR reports. Experience working in both an MSSP company and an Enterprise environment is preferred. Play a pivotal role in strengthening an enterprise-wide incident response and cyber defense function. Work with industry-leading experts in a collaborative and supportive environment. WFH Hybrid arrangements. Training and professional development opportunities. Location: Melbourne preferred, open to Sydney or Perth. This is a key role within the cyber defense team, supporting threat intelligence and incident response functions while serving as the trusted second-in-command to the Cyber Resilience Lead.
