Your Role in the Action As a Senior Industrial Designer at Andromeda Robotics, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping Abi’s physical presence—transforming imagination into tangible, heartfelt innovation. In this key role, you’ll be involved in every stage of the design process—bridging art and engineering to craft an unforgettable human-robot experience. From concept to manufacturing, you’ll collaborate closely with AI specialists, engineers, and users, ensuring Abi’s form, function, and emotional resonance align perfectly. Your work will redefine what it means to design empathetic technology, bringing warmth, delight, and genuine connection to every interaction. How You’ll Make an Impact Join forces with our Customer Success team to collect real-world insights, continuously refining Abi’s comfort, usability, and visual charm—nurturing truly heartfelt connections between people and robots. Collaborate with hardware, software, and Customer Success teams to establish a unified design language that seamlessly blends form, function, and storytelling. Shape the creative direction for Abi’s physical presence, designing each step from early sketches to fully realised prototypes and eventually production units, ensuring every detail radiates warmth and emotional resonance. Prototype and test design solutions at a rapid pace, adapting swiftly to insights and user feedback, ensuring Abi stays on the leading edge of empathetic innovation. Thoughtfully choose materials, manufacturing methods, and finishes that uphold Abi’s compassionate brand ethos—striking the perfect balance between beauty, cost, and sustainability. Partner with the mechanical and electrical teams to develop a robust production pipeline, integrating emerging technologies and optimising workflows for cost-effectiveness and scalability. Work closely with production teams and external partners to ensure smooth, high-quality fabrication, guiding Abi’s journey from prototype to mass production without missing a beat. Requirements What We Are Looking For 5+ years of professional design experience in a commercial environment A portfolio that brings your story to life, showcasing relevant project milestones and achievements A proven track record of bringing products from concept to reality Proficiency with a range of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, wood, etc.) Bonus Qualifications Experience with Onshape or similar CAD platforms A strong network of industry allies to help fast-track Abi’s journey to market The salary for this position may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
