Overview: 1 x full time (or fraction to be negotiated), ongoing position available within the Discipline of Cyber Security and Software Systems Salary Academic Level C ($135,814 - $156,608) + 17% Super Based at the City campus, but may be required to travel to other University campuses In the School of Computing Technologies, we aim to change student experience by embracing evidence-informed pedagogical strategies and experimenting with innovative, interactive, digitally enabled student-centred learning experiences. As the Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School. You will make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and be actively involved in research, consulting, and other professional activities. Furthermore, this position will see you: Develop, engage in, and lead high-quality research projects that are aligned with the University’s research focus areas to achieve success in attracting research funding and producing high-quality outputs. Have an important research leadership role in embedding your research expertise into the life of the School and will be required to develop high-quality, productivity-driven networks across RMIT and with local, national, and global partners. You may have responsibility for program management. With this appointment, we are looking to support the interdisciplinary and innovation objectives of the School, including fostering collaborations across the College of STEM and with other parts of the university, such as the College of Design and College of Business and Law. We are particularly interested in growing our strengths in areas such as: Cloud Computing Edge Computing High-performance Computing Software Engineering Cyber-physical Systems Internet-of-Things and other areas that complement teaching and research in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, and Data Science. To be successful in this position, you will have: Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including high-quality curriculum and program materials and the ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement. Ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs. Demonstrated ability to support student issues related to effective learning. Emerging nationally recognised research track record including a substantial record of research outputs in Cloud computing-related areas in high-quality outlets. Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research efforts, and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements. Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance. Demonstrated ability to manage an academic program team, supporting the scholarly development of less experienced academic staff. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial, governance, and quality management systems within a university. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes, and targets within a collaborative environment.
