The Opportunity Join our dynamic academic team as a Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Health and Wellbeing, where you'll inspire the next generation of culturally safe health professionals. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead innovative curriculum design, champion Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, and foster Cultural Safety in public health education. Your research will address pressing health equity challenges and span diverse health disciplines. Beyond the classroom, you'll forge impactful partnerships with industry and communities, creating opportunities that benefit students and advance public health. You will: contribute to learning and teaching practices within the public health discipline; undertake high-impact research; supervise honours students and HDR candidates; play a part in successful research grant applications; and contribute to governance, coordination of and participation in the school capacity-building activities. About you: Our ideal candidate will bring expertise in public health, paired with strong pedagogical skills and excellent communication abilities. You will have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning, prioritising students' needs and employing innovative methods to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Your strengths in assessment and feedback will ensure fair evaluations, helping students progress and identifying areas for improvement. Adaptability and flexibility are key, as you'll tailor your approach to meet diverse learning needs. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential. You will possess: completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing; proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula; sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position; sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment; participation and success in academic administrative functions e.g. program coordination, within a University; membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups; evidence of participation in academic development activities. Desirable postgraduate qualifications in higher education. formal external and/or internal recognition for excellence in learning and teaching and/or research.
