About the opportunity Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Education is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Education (Brain and Learning), to lead teaching and research in neuroscience and brain development, contributing to innovative curriculum design and impactful research. In this role, you will: Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in brain and learning, neuroscience, and education. Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of cutting-edge curricula and teaching resources. Drive impactful research, publishing in top-tier journals and securing competitive research grants. Provide mentorship and academic leadership to early career researchers and postgraduate students. Build and strengthen partnerships with schools, research institutions, and professional organisations. About you You are an experienced educator and researcher passionate about the intersection of neuroscience and education. Your expertise in the neuroscience of brain development, curriculum design, and research leadership will be key to your success. More specifically, you will have: A PhD/Professional Doctorate in Education, neuroscience, or a related discipline, along with an initial teacher education qualification. NSW Teacher Accreditation, Queensland Teacher Registration and/or equivalent state/territory registration will be highly regarded. Proven excellence in teaching brain and learning, neuroscience, and education within a university setting. A strong research track record, including publications in top-quartile journals, grant success, and HDR supervision. Experience in leading curriculum design, developing innovative teaching resources, and using contemporary educational technologies. Demonstrated leadership in teaching, research, or community engagement within education and neuroscience. This position is: Full-time, continuing (permanent) Located at either Coffs Harbour, NSW 2450, Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available. Academic Level C. The base salary ranges from $134,848 - $155,046 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $181,404.
