Job Description

Senior Lecturer of Paediatrics and Child Health $143,602 to $165,586 (FTE) per annum plus loading Location: Central Coast Clinical School, Gosford. Employment Terms: Full-time or Part-time continuing position with the University of Newcastle. For those applying for the Full-time opportunity, if successful you may be offered secondary employment as a Clinical Academic with the CCLHD on a 0.4FTE basis, in addition to their primary employment with the University, for which remuneration will be in accordance with the Clinical Academics Employed in the NSW Health Service Policy Directive. Salary: $143,602 to $165,586 (FTE) per annum (prorated if Part-time) – in addition to the salary, the remuneration package will include a Full Clinical Loading of $38,558 (FTE) and 17% superannuation. Category: Academic Level C. About the Position As the Senior Lecturer you will make a significant contribution to all activities of the School of Medicine and Public Health and within the discipline of paediatrics and child health. In collaboration with the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) in this role you will: have the opportunity to lead in paediatrics and child health at the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI); provide leadership in clinical service, research and teaching with dedicated clinical contribution in paediatrics and child health; provide clinical academic leadership within a growing and vibrant Clinical School and Research Institute; have links with academic educators and clinical colleagues at other Joint Medical Program (JMP) teaching campuses including the Hunter Clinical School, the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health and the University of New England; undertake work that will impact clinical services need in a growing and diverse region; be supported by a dynamic clinical service team; collaborate with colleagues across a medical school known for its innovation in medical education and outstanding research performance; have an opportunity to build a program and shape future direction of paediatrics and child health in the region. About You Together with the requirements of the selection criteria, to be successful in the role you will: have a passion for teaching and assessment of students; be dedicated to mentoring and academic support; have demonstrated involvement in medical education; have a demonstrated research track record; have demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications equivalent to that of a PhD.
