Senior Library Assistant Community & Culture Permanent Full Time Stream A Level 3 - $76,923 per annum Hervey Bay At Fraser Coast Regional Council our people are our most important asset and central to achieving our purpose of Building Better Communities Together . What We Are Looking For We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with strong cataloguing skills, library experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, community-driven environment. What Your Day Will Look Like Process and catalogue new resources, check invoices, and update resource records in the Library Management System (LMS). Liaise with suppliers to track orders, reconcile deliveries, and ensure new items are catalogued and processed correctly. Provide assistance at the circulation desk, handle library loans, returns, reservations, and offer reference services to patrons. Assist with weeding, identifying collection gaps, and ensuring materials are in good condition for continued use. Contribute to promotional materials and display new resources to the community, enhancing engagement with library services. Assist with library projects, provide administrative support, and participate in meetings and training as required. What You’ll Need For Success Diploma in Library and Information Services (AQF Level 5 or above) and/or relevant field or relevant experience. Working with children Blue Card. Highly developed communication skills including oral and written. Physical capabilities. Strong understanding of cataloguing, acquisition, and resource management in a public library environment. Ability to provide exceptional service, solve problems, and address inquiries in a timely and approachable manner. Willingness to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and patrons, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
