The Opportunity With exciting projects on the horizon, we’re expanding our team and are looking for a highly motivated and highly skilled Senior Lines Engineer with focus on Civil and Structural aspects of transmission line and cable systems. Based full time in Adelaide, South Australia, you will interface with other technical disciplines like substations and telecommunication, while providing strategic technical leadership, driving best practice in design, construction, and operation while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. In this role you will also be tasked with: Leading or providing technical solutions for transmission lines (standards & ElectraNet compliance). Providing expert advice on civil and structural line design throughout projects. Championing new technologies & processes. Collaborating with stakeholders & effectively communicating complex technical information. Managing document quality & participating in risk assessments. About You Here’s what we’re looking for in our new team member: Engineering degree (Electrical, Civil or Structural) with at least 5 to 10 years' experience in the design, installation/commissioning, operation and/or maintenance of transmission line and cable assets. Knowledge and experience of whole of life function and operation of high voltage electricity transmission networks and transmission line practices. Expert knowledge of specifications, installation, testing methods of overhead line materials (e.g. conductor, OHEW, OPGW and hardware) and/or underground HV cable. Knowledge and experience of route selection, environmental and community interface management, line survey practices, line design and cable modelling, design and selection of insulator arrangements and line hardware, and preparation of “for construction” design documentation. Strong knowledge of civil, structural, engineering survey, geotechnical investigations, site inspections, construction management and live line maintenance procedures. Proficient knowledge and experience of PLS-CADD, PLS POLE, TOWER, SPACE GASS and other civil, structural and line design software & tools. Demonstrated ability to prepare and review designs, including line specifications. A strong commitment to safety and problem-solving.
