This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and progressive generalist leader to join the Australia Post Group and lead the team of the largest domestic and international transport hub in Queensland. An early commencement date is preferred so that the successful applicant can be involved in the final stages of the development project and put their stamp on the role from day one of operations. Key to success will be experience in leading high-performing teams and strong relationship management skills in dealing with government and commercial enterprises. The focus of the role is on leading a team of experienced operational managers and creating a dynamic environment to optimise opportunities for constant improvement. The Role Reporting to the Head of Premium Operations, you will play a critical role in leading and integrating processing and transport operations at Queensland’s newest, state-of-the-art parcel facility. As this flagship site moves through its development phase, you will drive transformational change to optimise capacity, implement cutting-edge automation, and establish it as a benchmark for performance, safety, and compliance. Collaborating with your experienced leadership team, you will champion network-wide innovation and operational excellence, forging strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to position the facility as a premier hub in Australia Post’s logistics network. Key responsibilities include: Supporting project teams in delivering the new facility and implementing new automation. Delivering operational outcomes with a strong focus on safety, customer service, cost activities, and compliance. Driving continuous improvement and optimisation of the transport network and processing facilities. Engaging and influencing key stakeholders, including managers, employees, unions, contractors, and the community. Managing costs within established budgets and initiating cost savings and network improvements. Leading a high-performance team, focusing on safety, wellbeing, and customer-centricity. Promoting a 'one team' culture across the facility to achieve operational alignment and synergy. Your Background: Proven operational leadership experience in a large, complex organisation. While logistics or transportation experience is helpful, your ability to integrate teams and build strong stakeholder relationships is more important. Strong background in planning and delivering organisational change. Excellent negotiation and management skills. High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead and inspire a team, driving cultural change and continuous improvement. Tertiary qualifications in logistics, business management, or a related discipline are preferred.
