About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Communications and Campaigns to lead our communication strategies and ensure our voice is amplified in the public space. This role is designed for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identifying candidate who brings a deep understanding of cultural perspectives and community priorities. You will oversee the development and execution of impactful campaigns, internal and external communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies that align with our organizational goals. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will drive storytelling, advocacy, and collaboration to elevate our organization's presence and influence. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a communications and campaign strategy aligned with the organization's vision, values, and priorities. Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing communications team, fostering growth and collaboration. Campaigns: Plan, execute, and evaluate culturally informed campaigns to raise awareness, influence public opinion, and drive engagement. Content Development: Oversee the creation of culturally respectful and compelling content across all channels, including print, digital, social media, and video. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with media, government, community partners, and other key stakeholders. Crisis Communications: Manage media relations and communications during critical situations to uphold the organization's reputation and trust. Advocacy Support: Collaborate with advocacy teams to ensure consistent messaging and amplify key issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Cultural Integrity: Ensure all communications uphold cultural sensitivities and promote the strengths and resilience of our communities. About You: You are a passionate and experienced communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced and purpose-driven environment. With a proven track record in leadership and campaign delivery, you can inspire teams and foster meaningful connections across diverse audiences. Selection Criteria: Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identifying (mandatory). Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior communications, media, or campaign management role. Proven ability to develop and implement successful communication strategies and campaigns. Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and issues. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with media, stakeholders, and communities. Experience managing budgets and delivering high-impact campaigns within set timelines. Proficiency in digital media, analytics, and content management systems is highly desirable. Benefits: Competitive salary package: $150,000 - $175,000 + salary packaging + superannuation.
