Job Description Exciting opportunity to manage the strategic direction and delivery of external communications for the Qantas Group Work with a diverse group of stakeholders to drive positive positioning for the business Full time permanent opportunity based at our Mascot Campus The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications will lead the development and execution of external communication strategies for the Qantas Group. This role is crucial for safeguarding and enhancing the Qantas brand by ensuring our messaging is effectively communicated through media coverage. You will play a key role in developing strategic messaging and communications strategies across various portfolios. In this role, you'll be a senior member of the corporate affairs team and build strong, trusting relationships with the Executive leadership team and other senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for crafting innovative and strategic communications, offering expert advice on emerging issues, managing crises, and engaging stakeholders to develop and drive our strategic narrative. As a people manager, you will also lead and mentor the broader team, fostering professional growth and development within the department. What you’ll bring to the role – 10+ years’ experience in corporate communications. Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or equivalent. Extensive experience in leading communications functions within complex environments. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Experience managing media at regional and national levels on complex issues. Skilled in issues and crisis management in high-profile settings. Proven track record in developing and implementing communication strategies. ASX release and financial communications experience preferred. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership with experience in team management and career development. Proficient in handling fast-paced environments and working under pressure. Skilled in speech writing and preparing communication materials for diverse audiences and purposes.
